How Did I Get into Them

LATEST UPDATES: March 12th, 2025: Updated the front page with my current media (anime + games) plus I created an update archive in order not to make the right sidebar too crowded. That's what I'm doing instead of writing my thesis lmao.

How did I get into them?

I was born in 1995. Yes, the year that we got amazing games like Chrono Trigger, Earthbound, Suikoden and more. Since I was a kid during the early 2000s I lived the Pokémania. Because I'm autistic Pokémon was my special interest growing up. But that's not everything! I used to play SNES JRPGs on my uncle's computer with an emulator when I was VERY young, but couldn't get far into them because most of them were in English. The first one sans Pokémon that I remember playing were Lufia, Chrono Trigger and Terranigma, which funnily enough, were in Spanish (well not CT but you get it). My cousin had a PSOne but I was very young to play stuff like FFVII so I didn't even knew that he had those games.

I didn't finish Pokémon Yellow (my first game) until I was in my middle teens, but I was captivated by the fantasy worlds of RPGs. But since i'm also ADHD I didn't have the committment to finish most games I started. Until 2018 I had only finished Pokémon and Earthbound, but that changed when I played Final Fantasy IV. I realized I could beat all those games, so since then I've been playing everything I couldn't play due to my stupid attention span of because I couldn't afford the game system back then.

Flash forward to 2020. I was almost ready to finish my degree and had a lot of free time since I only had to subjects left, so I started playing a lot of different games. I got into Fire Emblem at last, and everything went smoothly. Then I played more FF, Lufia, Suikoden, Chrono Trigger and more. Nowadays, JRPGs are my main source of gaming entertainment, and I couldn't live without them.

I should thank emulation for this.
